Organizational development and spin-off of a sister company

01. October 2020 Responsibilities at QEST were reorganized

Based on the development, industrialization and manufacturing of innovative broadband antenna technology for aviation customers of renown, QEST Quantenelektronische Systeme GmbH ("QEST") in the past years has become established as a reliable and competent partner in the in-flight entertainment and connectivity industry.

After almost 20 successful years, technological innovations and the increasing demand for high-end solutions in the domain of satellite communications require an organizational development of the company.

In order to tap new technologies and markets, the sister company QEST Antenna Technology GmbH ("QAT") has been founded in the nearby Waldenbuch location: Headed by Dr. Jörg Oppenländer, QAT will develop and bring to maturity satellite communication antennas for various markets based on QEST’s Electroactive Phased Array (Q-EPA) technology. QAT’s management is completed by Stefan Bihler and Dr. Martin Gall.

QEST remains the prime contact for all aviation customers; the spin-off of QAT will enable QEST to focus on growth in its traditional target market in the field of in-flight entertainment and connectivity. Phased array antenna systems for aeronautical applications will be developed in close cooperation with QAT. The combination of maximum performance and reliability will remain key objective also for this future generation of antennas.

The responsibilities in QEST have been reorganized: Besides Dr. Martin Gall (CEO and link to the parent company Dräxlmaier) and Michael Stobinski (CCO: Sales and Finance), three long-standing executives have been newly appointed to the management board: Michael Seifried (CTO: Development), Stefan Bihler (CPO: Purchasing and Logistics) and Dr. Michael Wenzel (COO: Production and Quality Control). Dr. Oppenländer is leaving the management of QEST in order to entirely focus on building up QAT.
